Stephen Vincent Brennan has worked as a circus clown, book editor and author, teacher, cabaret artist, actor, director, sheepherder, and playwright. He was a founding member of the resident acting company at the Perry Street Theatre in NYC where he directed the Experimental Unit for ten years and appeared in over thirty productions.

Other New York stage credits include work with the Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, The Actors Studio, Ubu Rep, Theatre of the Open Eye, John Houseman Studio Theater and The Harold Clurman Theater Company.

TV credits include appearances on “Saturday Night Live,” Henry Winkler Meets Shakespeare, soaps and numerous commercials. He also acted in London’s fringe theatre for a year and was a circus clown for two seasons with Circus Vargas. He is now a playwright and director with the Kaufman Center on the Upper West Side, where he has written and directed over twenty plays for the Merkin Concert Hall stage. He lives in New York City and in West Cornwall with his wife, his daughter, and his son.
